My weekends have been so busy lately (my life actually has been crazy!). I feel like I can’t really ever get caught up on all the things i have going on.
While out last night visiting the super cool Space Oddities shop and dropping off some new LastCraft candles and tarot decks for them, I had an amazing tarot reading by Sarah Lorraine aka esoteriaofone. One of the biggest take-aways for me from the reading was that I need to CHILL. So part of this weekend is me just taking some time for myself to refocus.
What do you like to do to engage in self-care? I like to turn off my electronic devices, read, take baths (I’m obsessed with LUSH products) and just sit and think. I have a lot to think about with my 35th birthday in a week and my wedding in about a month!
I’ve been very thankful for my Gwynnie Bee account lately as it provides me with lots of pretty clothes without me having to deal with finding the time for shopping. This gorgeous geometric print dress is so much fun to wear on a summer day. It’s a little on the short side, and I would wear leggings with it if I were out for the day. If you’re not a member of gwynnie bee yet - really I can’t recommend it more highly! It’s free the first month and they keep adding more and more unique brands. Feel free to use my link to join if you’ve been on the fence, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

This palm-print Dorothy Perkins dress ticks almost everything I want in a summer dress. It features an adorable but not over-the-top print, wide straps (I can wear a bra!), perfect knee-length (I can wear bike shorts under to prevent chub-rub), breathable fabric. It’s just perfect. The only thing it doesn’t have is pockets, but I’ll let that go because the rest of it is so fantastic.
It’s a great plus size summer dress and I wore it on a hot sunday to run to the farmers market to buy some gorgeous fresh veggies and flowers. The photos are inside because my partner S who usually takes my pics is out of town - I think they still turned out well!
I hope you all had a beautiful weekend (and a long one for my US readers).

siouxsie and the banshees sunday
Today I got dressed up for a photoshoot that didn’t happen with a local pal and I figured since I was looking cute, I might as well share it here. This outfit is nothing revolutionary - but it’s how I dress when I’m just feeling ME. These plus size skinny jeans from Old Navy are way too short on me really, but I love pairing them with tall heels to make my legs look a million miles long. It was a windy day, so my hair is wind-blown but I sort of love how it adds to the rocker look. And this siouxsie and the banshees shirt is one I got from an ex a million years ago and I’ve treasured it ever since.

My instagram followers already got a little teaser photo of this gorgeous print dress by Postcards I got last week via Gwynnie Bee. I just love the bold print of this dress - but my favorite part is the little asymmetrical ruffle in the front I have deemed the “fupa flap” - hah!
I just love this easy-breezy dress. It’s super lightweight and you can really just throw it on and have an outfit. In the future I’ll add a braided belt and some killer shoes. As it was, I was hanging out in the backyard with my dogs and putting my toes in the grass.
The Fat Femme Wedding
Spring is here again and it’s time to share some plus size, queer femme, wedded bliss. The four of us (myself, Lauren, Kelly, and Rachel) had a lovely time modeling some gorgeous plus size ModCloth wedding and bridesmaid gowns.
The union took place on a cool spring day in a Logan Square park. We were surprised by a sweet kitty who joined us for some photos. After the ceremony, we headed to adorable local bakery Paper Moon Bakery for vegan treats and enjoyed the beautiful floral and succulent centerpieces.
It was a perfect day. Fantastical Chicago-local floral designers Green and Gold provided the beautiful hair pieces, shoulder piece and centerpieces. Hairstylist Anna Jackson did a gorgeous job styling our lovely locks. MUA and nail designer Gina ‘Gigi’ Lira made our faces look even more delightful with her custom lip colors (I NEED MINE IN A TUBE - it’s the most perfect shade of purple pink!). Nail polish was provided by fat femme indie nail polish brand PLUMP (colors Fupa and Crop Top Goth)
