Femme “Tomboy” Looks.

Per reader request, a few ideas for some summertime femme tomboy looks.  I skewed a bit preppy, but will post a few ideas later this week that are more edgy.

Looking forward to Spring - the patterned suit for plus size bodies

Patterned suits are EVERYWHERE this spring and I had yet to see a cute one anywhere for plus size bodies.  Until now.  Dorothy Perkins has another winner here with this gorgeous geo-pattern suit.  I’ve paired the slim-fitting pieces with a silky tank top, peachy wedges and tons of geometric accessories.

Polyvore set is here. Details below.

Winter Wear ideas by InTheThickofIt- via polyvore

Plus size blouse / Dorothy Perkins navy top / Dorothy Perkins jacket / Plus size a line skirt / Lands’ End lands end / even&odd wedge boots, $81 / Topshop / Grey hat / Dorothy Perkins pink shawl / Knitted scarve / Neff beanie / Silkies – Pantyhose, Shapewear, Plus Size, Tights, Toeless Hosiery,…

I’ve had some requests on how to layer for the winter.  I highly recommend fleece-lined tights or leggings and silk long-underwear for underneath everything/anything.

Plus size swim ideas

It’s summertime again and time to think about poolside and beach ideas.  Here are a few that are perfect for plus size folks

On the left is a more classic look - I love the polka-dot sunglasses with the gorgeous cut-out halter one-piece.

On the right is pulling from the neon trends of this summer. Paired with bright sandals but mixing it with natural elements in the bag and shoes.

And of course I don’t know about y’all, but I am LUSTING after that hilarious donut pool float.  Perfect for the fabulous unashamed fat folks out there.

Reader Request
Hi! So, I have two weddings to attend in June, and zero dresses, and a small budget — maybe $150-200 max. I’ve been limiting myself to eShakti - my bottom half is a 22 and my top half is an 18, so I need the customization aspect. I’m still totally overwhelmed though. Ideally, I need to just find one dress that I can change up. Wedding #1: old bar friend, super drinking party wedding. Wedding #2: my dad is getting remarried (this is the intimidating one), reception at a local art gallery. HELP.

Ok.  So there are some options on eshakti, but since you’ve already explored there, I thought I’d give you options elsewhere.  If you have specific eShakti dresses you want me to style for you - send them my way!

I picked the dress on the left because it’s the style of dress that will fit your bottom half even if your bottom half is many sizes larger than your top half.  It’s a very beautiful dress that I think can work a few ways.  I’ve styled it here with classic accessories

The dress on the right is probably out of your comfort zone, however I think it can be styled a few different ways to make it more trendy or more classic.  Here it is styled more trendy.  It’s also a shape that can be tailored very easily to different measurements.  You could also easily turn this into a dress you can wear on dates by pairing it with a cool jacket (like a structured leather jacket) and tights and boots!

Wedding look two ways

DKNYC plus size wrap dress, $139

I had a request from verybusyandimportant for a plus size look reminicient of Shannyn Sossamon from Rules of Attraction.  This is what I came up with - delicate prints paired with good outerwear - very no-fuss but super cute.

Accessorizing a pale green dress

I had a request for accessories for a pale green dress.

Can you recommend some ways to style/accessorize a plain velvet tshirt dress? It is short-sleeved, stretch velvet, in a muted seafoam green. I’m a size 14-16, 48-35-49. I like doll-like femme looks, as well as genderfucking, and I’m open to new looks. I find that I look best in looks that are not cluttered, which gives me trouble choosing accessories.

Reader, I hope this outfit suits your needs - I really love the idea of tougher shapes (the moto jacket) in pale colors.  I think those two colors specifically will look great together.

Plus size Alexa Chung look for littleredpeacoat

Reader littleredpeacoat asked me for some “geek chick, alexa chung” looks - these are perhaps a little on the femme side of that, but I thought they were fun and wanted to share.  I focused on flat shoes, fun textures, and good fabric.  I think the bobble sweater would also be great paired with some dark skinny jeans/jeggings.

Verybusyandimportant asked for an outfit idea.  The most challenging one yet!!

Help.
