Topshop Leopard Muppet Sweater and my day off
When I saw this fuzzy sweater at topshop, I gasped out loud. It reminded me so much of sweaters I loved from my teenage years in the 90s, and it was just so cool and weird. I am always wary about falling in love with clothes at topshop because it is one of those places that doesn’t really carry any traditional plus size lines. But a lot of their clothing is stretchy or “oversized” which makes it worth it to try things on. I have to thank Nicolette Mason for turning me on to even bothering to look at their clothes. So I tried on and fell in love with this fuzzy pink/green/black leopard print sweater.
Today being a day off for me, I decided to wear my new sweater to get my hair cut by the always-amazing Patrick at Fringe Salon (use my name - Amanda Stilwell or blog name as a referral when you book your appointment with Patrick and get us both a discount!). I also popped in my favorite corner diner for my usual order of cheese omelet, hashbrowns and pancakes and a mug of coffee. and since the salon is across the street from Wormhole Coffee, I also popped in for a hot chocolate before my haircut. What a lovely day to myself. And NEW HAIR!!!
The bottom photo is of me and S and a friend of ours (S is wearing a necklace from Tarnish also!). I’m wearing the same outfit and I just love this photo of us.

Librarian Witch Looks for a Winter Day
Some days call for a dark wintery look infused with vintage. I found this great plus size skirt at Knee Deep Vintage when I was in Pilsen a few weeks ago shopping with my friend HL. Knee Deep has an amazing collection of curated vintage clothing, but I love them so much for carrying lots of plus size pieces. The owner is super friendly and loves helping find the perfect outfit. I ended up with a great vintage slip and a cute sparkly vintage sweater as well. Absolutely make sure you stop by and check them out - as well as so many other great vintage shops in Pilsen. I probably need to make a neighborhood guide soon!
Of course a winter look could not be complete without some decent boots and a thick pair of tights - it’s just too cold in Chicago otherwise.

My new favorite accessory is this gorgeous Pyrite aka “fools gold” necklace by King Onye. Oneka is a local chicago jeweler who makes all the beautiful King Onye pieces. She and I met while she was selling her wares in Wicker Park last year and we just keep running into each other all over Chicago. She has fantastic taste and I love her work. I even bought a pair of her pyrite earrings for my friend Heather Lynn for christmas

Parks and Parkas
After visiting Berlin this fall, I was obsessed with finding a plus size parka that looked just the right amount of oversized. Everyone there was wearing them and they looked so easy stylish.
I found this plus size parka on sale at Old Navy just before christmas and I was so excited. It has all the details I wanted - pull ties on the outside, a vent back, a zipper and massive pockets (I have a water bottle in it!) Plus it was on sale for around $40! It’s not currently on the website - but I found it in store up to size 2XL (which I’m wearing).

The weather outside was terrible this weekend and I wasn’t able to get photos of my new vintage items that I wanted to share with you all. So in lieu of a fresh post - I thought I’d share some photos from my trip to Berlin and London that I had forgotten to post.
The trip was in Mid-october and the weather was perfectly autumnal - chilly during the day - great for layering. Since I was traveling, I was limited to the amount of things I could bring with me - so there are a lot of repeats, but it’s fun to play with combinations!
