Cloak and Parks
I’m not a religious person by any means, but if I was going to do any worshipping on Easter sunday, it was going to be at the Art Institute and Millenium Park. Nothing better than a little modern wing at the AIC. Seeing as how it was pretty much perfect weather, I was able to venture out in my new cloak and not have to worry about a giant puffy jacket.
I love that this cloak can be worn open or closed - giving it a fully different look each way. It was a great piece for going to the museum, because it could easily be slipped on and off as needed.

2012 Holiday Wishlist - the frivolous things.
I’ve been really blessed this year in so many ways and for the first time in many years, I don’t NEED anything. So my wish list for christmas is totally frivolous.
The reality is that if someone blessed me with lots of cash, I would spend a chunk of it on some travel (I’m over 30 and have never traveled outside of the US and would like that to change this year) and I’d also give a good portion of it to some of my favorite charitable organizations.

The Plum Sweater Dress and the Perfect Bag
Ah, yes…the time of year for sweater dresses and layers and perfect weekends filled with walking around, drinking warm beverages and looking at people. It was also a weekend for a massive closet “edit” which means that I found some things that had been buried in the back and I have a HUGE bag of clothes to sell/exchange. But during that, I found this sweet sweater dress that I just thought would be perfect for this weekend. It’s a little too big, but who cares - it’s flowy and sweet and one of my favorite colors.

Flannel and Chains
It’s still cold cold winter and I’m experimenting a lot with flannel these days. I like that flannel has this very gay history - but I’m enjoying mixing it with different pieces like blazers and skirts and fancy necklaces. Here’s my look today.
Also this outfit has made it clear that I need to get a really great belt that fits my lower waist.

Autumn Black Lace
It’s hard for me to get out of my all-black ensembles sometimes. Especially for going out. I like how tough I feel in my black skinny jeans. Last night was no exception. I also made use of my new metal harness from topshop. I liked the juxtaposition of lace with the metal harness.
